The desire for a bra that provides support for all sizes and can combat the heat is something Wacoal Fit Experts hear often from our customers, and as such, developing a collection to suit this need became a top priority for our design team.
After more than two years of research, development and rigorous testing, the Wacoal cooling collection has arrived, and the initial reviews are in. Spoiler Alert: Customers are raving!

Q: What makes the Wacoal cooling collection different from other “cooling” products in the market?
Sure, there are bras out there that call themselves ‘cooling’, but the truth is, the cooling properties are executed in the finishing process—meaning that after the fabric is made, a treatment is applied to give it some sort of moisture-wicking ability. But, as women wear and wash these bras, the topical finishes don’t last! Which means, the cooling benefits don’t either.
We worked directly with a fabric mill to develop an innovative material in which the construction of the yarn itself delivers the cooling factor. This means that the cooling properties last for the entire life of the garment.
Q: Does the cooling material support all bust sizes?
Yes! So much of Wacoal’s DNA is in supporting all shapes and sizes, we would never compromise that. Especially since we know that tissue on tissue creates heat. The larger the bust, the more tissue, which means more heat—and the uncomfortable sweat and moisture that comes with it. Finding a yarn to spin into a fabric that has the four-way stretch we needed to support the size range that we offer was like finding a needle in a haystack, which is why we worked with a supplier to develop the material from scratch. With this innovative material, we are able to offer the cooling underwire bra in sizes ranging from a 34C through a 42G.
Q: How did you decide what cooling products to launch?
We started the development process focusing on creating an essential underwire bra, one tried and true staple style that we knew our customers would love. Then, once we had the material created, it was a no-brainer to extend into cooling panties—personally, I love the Keep Your Cool Hi-Cut because the style is so on-trend right now and the mesh side panels offer extra breathability. Our customers wear shapewear for celebrations that so often involve dancing—and now, with social distancing, those celebrations are taking place outside, not in air-conditioned venues. So, the cooling material can make a huge difference!
