Giving back is rooted in Wacoal’s DNA, and we believe that being socially minded is essential for creating a sustainable future. We currently play an active role in supporting a variety of organizations including the following:
Wacoal has been a proud partner of Susan G. Komen® for more than 20 years. As the world’s leading nonprofit breast cancer organization, Komen is committed to supporting those affected by breast cancer today, while tirelessly searching for tomorrow’s cures. To date Wacoal has donated over $6 million to Komen through Fit for the Cure® and other related programs.
We know that women are stronger together, so in partnership with Delivering Good we introduced our Buy a Bra, Give a Bra program in 2019. Delivering Good distributes new merchandise donated by companies in the fashion, home, and children’s industries to other charitable organizations around the country and the world that directly help people impacted by poverty and tragedy. To date, we have donated new bras worth more than $2.8 million to women in need.
Materials for the Arts helps to keep valuable items out of landfills by giving them to NYC arts nonprofits, public schools, and City agencies. To date, Wacoal has donated about 5000 pounds of fabric, lace, and samples, as well as office furniture and supplies.
The Dominican Republic Relief Organization provides food, clothing, and medicine to Dominican residents. To date, Wacoal has donated nearly 8700 samples, as well as fabric and materials, office furniture and supplies.
refashionNYC works in partnership with the NYC Department of Sanitation and Housing Works to make textile donations easy through an in-building service. Since adding a drop off bin in our New York office, we have collected more than 900 pounds of donations.
